Bonjour

This week was the pits as far as lessons go but overall we saw some pretty awesome stuff.
Monday we carved pumpkins with our zone and I did an a lunatic looking one. It turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself. We got to go out to the Cal Poly field and scavenger with the zone leaders for any that were decent or hadn't rotted. We got them all for free too! Just saying, rotten pumpkin is not the nicest smell in the world. We also got to see Tera's new little baby girl! Oh my goodness, I was about to die of cuteness overload. She was so mellow and sweet and I just felt so happy for her. Tera is going to raise her in the church and man, think of how many blessings that will come of it.

We have been working with the ward to do family mission plans and this week we did the Kongaika clan. They have two twin boys, and a couple more, one of which is named Jacob and he totally reminds me of our Jacob haha. They were so gung ho and passed out over 50 passalong cards to their friends this week....like a boss. I love it when people get excited about missionary work. The mom is also a coupaner so she gave us like over 75 bucks worth of stuff that she got with coupans. I just about killed over when I saw her stash, and to think that it was all for free. I hope I can do something like that for the missionaries one day. Miguel, the lost less active that we found, is doing really well. He is still fired and ready to go and the Lord even blessed him with a new job so that he can go to church on Sunday! I'm so excited for him. Halloween was pretty lame to say the least. We had to be in by 6 so we just did our weekly planning. I got some pumpkin spice steamed milk to make up for it though. Our ward is awesome in that we have dinner every night with someone. One of my favorite families is the Buffo's. They have two adopted boys and two more of their own, all under the age of nine. The littlest girl reminds me of a purple minion from Despicable Me 2 haha. She even sounds like them and never seems to loose enegry. They are such a sweet couple. Total oppposites in every way but somehow they just work so nicely together. It makes me happy every time we go over. it is the craziest house on the block but I think it seems to be the place that I feel most at home.
Today we went to the Hindu temple. I had already been but most of the zone was new since then so we all went again. It is crazy! It's all hand carved and there are over 34,000 pieces that all fit together to make it, all without steel frames or nothin. We had an awesome tour guide that told us about the religion and everything. I loved it! It made me want to go home and meditate in a yoga pose haha.
My comp is two weeks away from going home so we have been spending all of our free time packing and sending out invites to her departing devotional. It feels weird having someone go home. She has a love hate relationship with the idea. It doesn't feel like I will ever go home but yet almost 6 months have flown by since I left home. It's flashing before my eyes! All I know is that time is precious and I don't want to waiste a moment. So much to do, so little time. Before we all know it I will be on a plain home and back to reality. I'm just in denial that my mission will ever end haha.

I have been learning so much lately. A lot of those lessons have been from mistakes but I guess that is expected with anything. I've never had to work so hard mentally and spiritually, but with it has come many blessings. It may seem kinda bad, but I'm glad that I'm making a lot of those kind of mistakes now instead of later on in my life, what with communication, relationships, callings and such. I know that I say this all of the time, but the mission really is training for life and I'm so glad I get to go through it, even if it's often very hard. It's cool to see yourself change to something better than before. I know that God is aware of each and every one of us and that the blessings of my mission will reach far beyond these 18 months.
Love ya lots,
Sister Prows
