I am super excited! Tera is getting
baptized on Saturday!!!!!! Hurray-ah yeah-woot woot-cool beans! She is getting
really big with child (insert chuckle) and plus she has waited so long
that we decided to do it ASAP. It will be my first ever baptism! Yep, I'm
pretty stoked. Oh, we also got three new investigators on Saturday night! They
are the ones that the kids started reading the book of mormon by themselves.
They were a referral from some other elders that we have been trying to get a
lesson with for over a month. We've talked to them several times but long story
short they felt bad that things kept coming up so they invited us over for a
BBQ and we talked with the mom and two kids while the older brother and dad
made the food. They'll hopefully become new investigators too next
week. Pray that all goes well. They are so awesome and they really need
the gospel in their lives right now. Rufus the dad has been sick and had a
really hard life and things just aren't going too great for them. We have a
return appointment Saturday so pray that everything goes well.
This week had it's ups and downs as
always. My comp has been sick with a sore throat that turned into a nasty cold
so that has been slowing us down a bit. We even had to stay home on day so that
she could rest but I kept busy and updated the area book. It's hard to find
balance between pushing yourself to keep going and just letting yourself
recover so that you can work more effectively but maybe someday I'll figure
it out. Pray that I don't get sick though okay! We can't afford it this
week.
We found out some sad news last
night. One of our recent converts' sister jumped off of a bridge yesterday.
After Jenna got baptized things went way downhill for her and basically went
into a huge depression. Nobody has been able to get a hold of her since Easter
and she never answers the door. Finally, she called one of the members last
night and told her what happened to her sister and said that she was sorry for
everything. She was just embarrassed didn't think anybody wanted to
be around her because she just told them about all of the negative things
going on. But she asked for someone from the church to go give her sister a
blessing. At this point she probably won't make it so keep them both in your
prayers. Just about every bad thing that could happen to her has happened
already so she needs all the faith and prayers we can muster up.
On a happier note- the area is going
pretty good. It is really hard to find people to teach but we are working hard.
People here are just sooo busy all of the time which always seems to get in the
way. I've been learning though that a lot of times our timing and the Lord's
timing aren't always the same. We just have to realize that everything is
a process and that change takes time. Everybody is unique and so everybody
progresses different. Let's just say I've had to work on patience and hope
haha. He really is moving the work along though.
Well i gots to go now. Hope
everything is going good! Let me know if anybody ever needs prayers.
Love ya lots,
Sister Prows
