How is everyone! Sorry that I wasn't
able to email last week. it was a holiday on Monday so we only had an hour to
email on Tuesday. Everything is going well here So Cali. The weather is finally
cooling off so we don't look like drown rats by the time we get to appointments
anymore. The work is a bit slow and everyone has been super busy but overall we
are doing good. Tera had her little girl on Saturday!
she finally had to be induced and it took forever but in
the end she had a happy, healthy baby girl. Her name is Anna Irene Hackett. We
still haven't seen her yet but I'm so stinken excited. at least. I think that
getting to see her will hopefully ease some of my baby craving since I didn't
get to see little Marlee. She is so stinken cute!! I'm glad that everyone is
loving her like crazy. I can't wait to skype on Christmas so that I can see
her! I'm so happy to be an aunt....again. I can't wait to see all of the baby
photo shoot picks from Sarah and Majesso.
We had an super fun ward activity a
couple of weeks ago that we put on. It was a multi-cultural dinner so everyone
brought food and decorations from their country. We only meant to suggest the
idea when we brought it up in ward counsel over a month ago
but long story short there was some miss-communication and we
actually ended up having to plan the whole thing last minute. It was
so stressful and everyone thought that it would fail and only
like 30 people would show up, but I am happy to announce that it was a huge
success and almost a hundred people came and there was plenty of food for
everyone. We had several less-actives show up and even quite
a few non-members! all of our investigators couldn't make it
unfortunately but it still turned out good. Sister Tuala had all of her Poly
family come and dance so we had some awesome entertainment for the
night. She even taught us a little hula that we performed
as a surprise haha. I was beat red the whole time but we brought
the house down haha. I had no idea if we are even aloud to do that haha.
Heavenly father really does answer prayers because the night before I was kinda
freaken out but it all worked out in the end.
On Saturday we went
to volunteer at a pumpkin festival at Cal Poly University.
It was super fun and we got to be the cheerleaders ad guard the exit
of the corn maze haha. We even got an awesome referral from the
member that had us all come. It was kinda weird having people be so
nice to us when we told them good job after getting through the maze. We
were in regular clothes and so I don't think many realized that we were
missionaries haha. I think we saw just about every color, nationality, shape
and size out there that day. It was super packed but it was fun to see everyone
going home with all of their pumpkins.
We have a couple of new
investigators though! Alyssa is 15 years old and has been to church activities
several times. Her parents won't let her get baptized which is hard but
hopefully one day they will change their minds. She has several issues but
going to church has really helped her. Her best friend Mikala is also
investigating the church. she is 12 years old and the sweetest thing since
apple pie. It's funny though because her and I have really similar
personalities and likes while Alyssa and Sister Coleman are the some as well.
It's our running joke that we like to teez each other with each time we go
over. Mikala had a baptismal date for November 1 but she has been super busy
and it's hard to catch her, so we will move the date tomorrow but she is super
solid. Her parents are cool with it all and she has been reading the Book of
Mormon every night. During the lessons she always says that she feels really
good and that she loves what she hears. She is such a sweat heart! I can't wait
to see where she goes in life. We also ave an investigator names
Linda who we had two amazing lessons with but she is out of town last
minute until November. She is the YW president's best friend and so we go over
to her place for all of the lessons. She is already so ready.
Oops, I gotta go. Thanks again for
all of your support. I love you all and hope that everything is going good. I'm
so grateful for such an amazing family. We really are so so blessed.
Love ya lots,
Sister Prows
